Black Friday remains a popular holiday tradition, with personal finance website WalletHub’s 2024 report revealing that more Americans in 2023 shopped online (90.6 million) than in stores (76.2 million). WalletHub analyzed over 4,300 deals from 13 major U.S. retailers for its updated 2024 Black Friday rankings, with JCPenney leading the list, offering an average discount of 76.2%, followed by Belk at 72.7% and Macy’s at 57.1%. Canadian-based Barrio Burrito Bar is coming to 2255 Bel Pre Rd Space 20 in Silver Spring, take over the space previously occupied by TMobile in the Plaza De Marcado shopping center.
Arby’s closed its last Montgomery County location at 11710 Rockville Pike in North Bethesda back in May of 2021. McDonald’s will be its replacement and a permit valued at $1.15 million was issued earlier this fall. Construction has now begun.
Gaithersburg will soon welcome Upcycled, a unique, family-run business opening at 18959 Bonanza Way on January 1, 2025. This “hybrid concept” combines a vintage and pre-loved fashion store with a cozy coffee shop offering a variety of lattes, both iced and hot. (more…)
Back in September we let you know that L&L Hawaiian Barbecue will open its first Maryland location right here in Montgomery County at 785 Rockville Pike, Suite G, in the Ritchie Center (Rockville). The restaurant will take over the space formerly occupied by Superbowl Noodle House, which permanently closed in March. Now we know the restaurant plans to open in January 2025 or sooner, according to the restaurant.
Charlie Palmer Steak DC has announced that it will close its DC location at 101 Constitution Ave. permanently on Friday, November 29th.
