Coming soon signage is up for Mui, a modern Japanese-inspired restaurant at North Bethesda’s Pike & Rose. The 8,506 square foot restaurant will be located at 967 Rose Avenue, next to West Elm.

Arby’s closed its last Montgomery County location at 11710 Rockville Pike in North Bethesda back in May of 2021. McDonald’s will be its replacement and now a permit valued at $1.15 million has been issued to get things started, according to Maryland Newsletters.

In June we let you know that Starbucks received $475,000 permit for the interior construction of the upcoming Starbucks at White Oak Town Center (12345 Columbia Pike). The store is now officially open.
Carmen’s Italian Ice in Kensington, MD is almost ready to open. According to the company, the shop’s build-out is nearly complete, with plans for soft opening “pop-up” events this weekend and next week, followed by a grand opening later this month. (more…)
Big Lots at 20926 Frederick Rd at the Milestone Shopping Center in Germantown has announced it will be permanently closing. A representative from the location tells us that they are expected to close by the end of the year, with storewide sales beginning soon.
Neko Nook has officially opened in the space previously occupied by FD Book Cafe at 422 Main St in Gaithersburg’s Kentlands neighborhood. The new cafe touts “comfort meets creativity” and the menu features Japanese-style sandwiches known as “sando.” A first-look video is available below by @tastemoco.
