Each month, dining reservation app Open Table analyzes nearly two million global dining reviews from the past four months and sorts them by location and category to create a “Best Overall Restaurant” list. The list is limited to restaurants that use Open Table for reservations and, as with any list based on the opinions of others, will likely have plenty who disagree. The Washington Post’s Zoe Glasser recently went out to find the DC area’s “best ice cream”– trying 12 shops in two weeks and rating them by flavor, texture, and scoop size to come up with a total score. Three ice cream shops, one in VA, one in DC, and one in MD (right here in Montgomery County), tied for the highest total score.

El Jefe Wood-Fired Pizza, a locally owned food truck that serves across Montgomery County, has opened a stall inside the Solaire Social Food Hall (8200 Dixon Ave) in Silver Spring. Pizza options include the Jeferoni (pepperoni), Don Queso (cheese), Margherita, and Speedy Gonzalez (white pizza).
