Gaithersburg will soon welcome Upcycled, a unique, family-run business opening at 18959 Bonanza Way on January 1, 2025. This “hybrid concept” combines a vintage and pre-loved fashion store with a cozy coffee shop offering a variety of lattes, both iced and hot. (more…)
Back in September we let you know that L&L Hawaiian Barbecue will open its first Maryland location right here in Montgomery County at 785 Rockville Pike, Suite G, in the Ritchie Center (Rockville). The restaurant will take over the space formerly occupied by Superbowl Noodle House, which permanently closed in March. Now we know the restaurant plans to open in January 2025 or sooner, according to the restaurant.
Charlie Palmer Steak DC has announced that it will close its DC location at 101 Constitution Ave. permanently on Friday, November 29th.
Pike & Rose is hosting a “Santa Crawl” on Saturday, December 14th from 2pm until 10pm. “Tis the Season! Kick off the holidays at North Bethesda’s Santa Crawl at Pike & Rose with games, music and specials for all to enjoy.”

Chi-Chi’s, once a popular Mexican restaurant chain, faced a steep decline after a deadly hepatitis A outbreak in 2003, which sickened hundreds and led to multiple lawsuits. Montgomery County’s second Tatte location will open on Wednesday, November 20th at 5400 Westbard Ave in Bethesda. An employee has sent us photos of the bakery from a friends and family event held on Monday, November 18th (available below).
The Lone Oak tree, a historic white oak that stood as a symbol of both the resilience and division of American history, has found new life at Lone Oak Farm Brewery in Olney. After the original tree, which the farm brewery is named for, fell in a powerful spring storm in 2023. Its legacy continues, both in spirit and in physical form, through a cloned version that has been planted on the property.
Sir Walter Raleigh Inn is fondly remembered as an affordable steakhouse known for its extensive salad bar, making it a popular spot for homecoming dinners and birthday celebrations. The Montgomery Village location, now a CVS, closed in 2005, but the chain once had multiple locations across the DC Metro area, including Baltimore, Bethesda, Wheaton, and Alexandria. (more…)
