Jollibee is coming to Wheaton Mall.
Back in March we let you know that Jollibee was making its way to MoCo with its first Maryland location.

It appears as though Bagel City in Rockville may have closed. As first reported by ABC7’s Kevin Lewis, the light up sign with the restaurant’s name has been taken down, there is a “For Lease” sign in the window, and the restaurant seems to have been emptied of all tables and equipment.
Bagel City, located in the Pike Center shopping center off of Rockville Pike, had been in operation in that location for almost 40 years.

Jimmie Cone has announced that both locations are back open for business starting TODAY.

La Tasca has closed permanently in Rockville Town Square.
A few days after the Washington Business Journal announced that La Tasca filed for bankruptcy, the Kensington-based restaurant sent out an email stating the following:
Sardi’s Smokehouse is now serving in Olney.
Earlier this month Sardi’s Taphouse in Olney (3418 Olney Laytonsville Road) opened up the taphouse side as Sardi’s Smokehouse and is now serving fresh cuts of smoked meat.

Last summer we reported that Ema Rossi Pizzeria Napoletana would be moving in to the old Pizza Hut location in the Rock Creek Village Center (5556 Norbeck Rd).
Pizza Hut closed back in April of 2020 and the location remained vacant for a few months, but the space was quickly snatched up and permanent signage for Ema Rossi went up in the winter.

Kabob N Karahi in Cloverly has been working hard to complete its expansion, taking over the Global Furniture store that was next door. The restaurant should be ready to go with its larger dining area soon after things open up.

It has been a little over a year since we broke the news of Hawkers Asian Street Fare coming to the old Redwood location in Bethesda Row (7121 Bethesda Lane).
Yesterday we took a peek inside and saw that even though some progress was made, there’s still plenty to go before we can expect an opening.
The Block in Pike & Rose has reopened with an entirely new menu and two new chefs. The new menu has a fresh take on dim sum, Chinese street food, sandwiches, tacos, and more.
As we reported back in December, Hook & Reel Cajun Seafood Bar is coming to MoCo with two new locations in 2020 (Gaithersburg and Wheaton).
They’ll open in the Montgomery Village Crossing shopping center at 9643 Lost Knife Rd.– the old Home Design Furniture location.
