In June, we reported that construction had begun at Dave’s Hot Chicken at 12345 Columbia Pike in White Oak. According to a representative from Dave’s, the location is anticipating a mid-November opening. (more…)
Dunkin’ has officially opened its new “Next Generation” restaurant at the Friendship Heights Metro Station in Chevy Chase, MD.
L&L Hawaiian Barbecue is opening soon at 785 Rockville Pike, Suite G, in the Ritchie Center. The restaurant will take over the space formerly occupied by Superbowl Noodle House, which permanently closed in March. (more…)
Torchy’s Tacos, known for their “Damn Good Tacos,” will hold the grand opening of its first DMV location (12266 Rockville Pike, Rockville) on Wednesday, October 2nd at 10am. The first 100 people in line will receive a keychain that lets them get free queso for a year one. The inaugural Butter Chicken Festival will take place in the DMV from October 13-20, featuring top local restaurants showcasing their unique versions of the popular dish. From “Butter Chicken tacos to burritos and spaghetti,” participating chefs will present creative twists on the classic recipe, with a portion of sales supporting World Central Kitchen (WCK), Chef José Andrés’ non-profit focused on providing meals during crises. Since its closing in 2013, the absence of Roy’s Place has left a hole in the hearts of many current and former Montgomery County, Maryland residents. According to the now-defunct Roy’s Place website, the restaurant began serving their 200+ sandwiches in Rockville in 1955. After a couple moves within Rockville, they settled in at 2 E Diamond Ave in Olde Towne Gaithersburg in 1971. (more…)
