Back in May we let you know that the owner of popular dim sum restaurants China Garden (Rockville) and Han Palace (Tysons, Woodley Park, Barracks Row), Chris Zhu, announced that she is bringing a new restaurant to Rio– taking over the space that was previously home to Union Jack’s until June 2020.
Kajiken, a restaurant that offers “soupless ramen,” will be opening soon at The Shops at Congressional Village shopping center on Rockville Pike in Rockville.
“Savor Bethesda” Restaurant Week takes place from Friday, February 16 – February 25, 2024. Check back soon to see additional participating restaurants. Deals are for $10, $20 and $35. Restaurants with * after their names will also accept takeout orders.

Dog Haus Biergarten will open a new location at 1837 M St NW, DC on Monday, February 19th. This will be local Dog Haus franchisees Faizan and Adila Khan’s first location outside of Montgomery County.
Last month we let you know that Peterson Companies, which owns Rio Lakefront, submitted an application that proposes to add a floating pier for Guapo’s restaurant. The Gaithersburg Planning Commission approved the plan at last night’s meeting.

Kara Hibachi & Sushi, which opened in the Potomac Valley Shopping Center across from Quince Orchard High School in Gaithersburg in 2020, has closed. A representative from the restaurant has told us that a new restaurant will be taking its place within a couple of weeks.
