Dawson’s Market, which announced last month that it would be permanently closing its location at 225 N. Washington St. in Rockville Town Square at the end of June, has revealed a new partnership with the Universities at Shady Grove. Dawson’s will provide catering services and manage the campus’s cafeteria and coffee bar starting this summer. Full press release below:

A $475,000 permit has been issued for the interior construction of the upcoming Starbucks at White Oak Town Center (12345 Columbia Pike). Construction should begin soon and stores in the shopping center could begin opening by the end of the summer.
Han Spot, the new dim sum restaurant that’s coming to the space that was previously home to Union Jack’s until June 2020 (9811 Washingtonian Blvd), is now hiring ahead of it’s anticipated opening in the coming months (date unknown).
Updated at 2:45 PM: A Kimco representative informed us that Buca di Beppo’s lease is expiring, and the restaurant has chosen not to renew. Redevelopment of that part of the shopping center is not anticipated to start until at least 2026. My Gym, Orange Theory, and the post office all have current leases and are not expected to close in the near future.
Buca di Beppo at 112 Kentlands Blvd in Gaithersburg has announced it will close on Sunday, June 23.

Brew House Kentlands has closed at 325 Main Street in Gaithersburg, little over a year after the coffee shop opened in March 2023. It took over the previous home of Clear Skies Meadery, which opened its new meadery at 15201 Display Ct in Rockville.

As summer time approaches, and with record-heat possible this coming week, our very own Mr. MoCo wanted to share his current 12 favorite ice cream spots in MoCo. The word current is there because this list often changes with places moving in and out of his rotation. “While I love just about every ice cream place there is, I’m choosing the 15 that appeal to me the most right now. I’m also including places that offer “frozen treats” because I consider it all in the ice cream family. If there’s a place not listed, it’s just not currently in my top 12, which is likely to look different than yours (I’m only one person and can only eat so much ice cream, so there are also likely places I haven’t been to yet).” The list you’ll see below is accurate as of June 15th, 2024:
