Silver Diner is requesting approval for a 1,581 square-foot pergola for outdoor dining at Silver Diner RIO. The pergola structure will include a louvered roof and walls with a guillotine-style window system (additional renderings below).

Mari Vanna DC, the popular 6,000 square-foot, three-level restaurant that opened in January 2013, has announced that it will be closing permanently.
Last year we let you know that developers Bernstein Management and Finmarc Management pulled the first permits that will allow for construction to begin on the upcoming White Oak Town Center (12345 Columbia Pike). Now, seven tenants have signed on for the upcoming shopping center.
Construction began in November at The Clarks Lodge Bar & Grill– the restaurant that signed on to move into the old GrillMarx space at 12011 Snowden Farm Pkwy in Clarksburg.
Bethesda fine-dining staple Duck Duck Goose was replaced by new concept Good Ducking Burger at 7929 Norfolk Ave. in September. The restaurant is now closed, following the expiration of the lease at the location, according to owner/operator Ashish Alfred.

Chipotle has signed on as a tenant at the renovated Burtonsville Crossing shopping center. The fast food restaurant will be joining the longstanding Burger King and the coming soon Moby Dick and Eggspectation at the shopping center.

Eggspectation, a restaurant that serves “elevated American cuisine with a lengthy all-day breakfast menu alongside hearty lunch and dinner fare”, is returning to Montgomery County.
On Saturday, January 14, Councilmember Will Jawando issued a statement announcing that the County Council will be withdrawing Bill 35-23, County Minimum Wage – Tipped Employees, which would have adjusted the calculation of the minimum wage for tipped workers and phase out the tip credit amount under the Montgomery County’s minimum wage law.
