Eater DC has released an updated list of ‘Where to Find The Best Sushi Around DC ’ that includes two restaurants in Maryland– both located right here in Montgomery County. The list was updated on July 14th.
In a recent development on Rockville Pike, Royal Durbar has signed on to take over the space that was most recently home to Damso Korean BBQ at 1319 Rockville Pike in the Woodmont Station shopping center. The space was occupied by Saffron Indian Cuisine before that.
Back in March 2023 we let you know that the 100-year old building that is home to the Olney Ale House was sold to Two Sibs LLC, led by Selim Kantar, for $1.45 million. More than two years later, restaurant management tells us that the hope is to open by the end of the summer.

Many consider the Sunshine Burger from the Sunshine General Store in Brookeville, MD (often referred to as Sunshine, between Olney and Damascus) the best burger in Maryland. The burger boasts a ½ pound of ground beef topped with lettuce, tomato, onions, ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise. However, part of the burger’s charm lies in the unique atmosphere of the General Store itself. A MoCoShow commenter once wrote “Best burger in Maryland, just don’t look at the walls.”

On Tuesday, July 15th, the Bagelry in Silver Spring will welcome a group of students with special needs for a unique and heartwarming experience. At 9:40 am, Steve, the owner of the Bagelry, will host eight middle school students, teaching them the art of making pizza bagels.

Since opening in July 2024, the restaurant has garnered acclaim as one of the “Hottest New Brunches” and “Hottest New Restaurants.” Recently, the restaurant was also highlighted for its unique coffee drinks that have drawn lines out the door at 7056 Carroll Ave in Takoma Park, MD, and now it’s celebrating its one-year anniversary by thanking customers and asking where it should open the next San Pancho.
