Robert (Bob) David Youngentob, the Executive Chairman and founding partner of Bethesda-based EYA, LLC, passed away on October 18, 2025, at the age of 64, following a battle with cancer, according to an online obituary. Youngentob, a longtime Montgomery County resident and one of the region’s most respected developers, was widely recognized for shaping urban living across the Washington metropolitan area.

When William H. Farquhar Middle School opened its doors in 1968, it marked the start of a new era for Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS). The Olney school became the first in the county to adopt the “middle school” model, serving grades six through eight, a departure from the traditional “junior high” structure that had long served grades seven through nine.

For decades, The Golden Bull in Gaithersburg (Montgomery County) and Adelphi (Prince George’s County) was one of the region’s best-known steakhouses, serving hearty portions of prime rib and steak in an old-school setting that became a favorite for celebrations and family dinners.
