On Saturday, August 30, a fire engulfed a two-story home on the 2300 block of Cranberry Terrace in Aspen Hill, displacing a family of five, including two adults, three children, and one pet.
On Saturday, August 30th, a fire engulfed a two-story home on the 2300 block of Cranberry Terrace in Aspen Hill. According to updates from Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS), the call for assistance came in at 6:19 p.m., when flames were already visible on the first and second floors of the residence. Fortunately, no occupants were present at the time of the fire.

The Montgomery County Police Department is marking the 50th anniversary of the unsolved 1975 murder of 15-year-old Kathy Beatty, who was found unconscious and sexually assaulted in a wooded area behind the former K-Mart in Aspen Hill, later dying from her injuries.
In a collaborative effort, the Park Police teamed up with the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) for a high-visibility traffic enforcement initiative on Georgia Avenue in Aspen Hill. Instead of utilizing standard police vehicles, officers conducted stops on horseback.

Robert E. Peary High School was located at 13300 Arctic Ave. in Aspen Hill, MD. It opened in the 1960 and closed in 1984 primarily due to declining enrollment. A Facebook group with over 4,000 members keeps its memories alive.
