Montgomery County Police 3rd District Commander Jason Cokinos said in a post on Friday that officers have seized five illegally possessed guns in Silver Spring during the week, highlighting a series of enforcement actions aimed at preventing shootings and other violent crimes in the area.
According to Cokinos, officers recovered the firearms during several separate incidents this week:

Brookside Nature Center is managed separately from Brookside Gardens. Brookside Gardens’ hours are not affected by closings at the Nature Center.
