The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will begin its semi-annual cleaning of 21 parking garages in Silver Spring, Bethesda, and Wheaton starting September 9 and ending November 3. The cleanings will occur during nights and weekends, with some garages experiencing partial closures.
MCPS is hosting its annual Back-to-School Fair on Saturday, Aug. 24 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Westfield Wheaton mall, located at 11160 Veirs Mill Road. (more…)
Captain David Smith, Commander of the Montgomery County Police Department’s (MCPD) fourth district, shared information on Wednesday regarding the arrest of three people (two separate incidents) and recovery of a stolen vehicle.
A Tuesday morning traffic incident has closed the left lane on the inner loop of I-495 before Georgia Ave. Drivers should anticipate delays and consider taking an alternate route.
Wheaton’s newest mural on the side of a building, called “Wheaton Lives,” will be dedicated in ceremonies at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 11. The mural is on the building that houses Elbe’s Beer and Wine store (photo of the full mural below).
Montgomery Parks and the Montgomery Parks Foundation have announced the commission of a mural for the park activity building at Glenmont Local Park (3201 Randolph Road) in Wheaton-Glenmont. Last October we let you know Dunkin’ will be taking over the space that was previously home to $2.49 Cleaners, at 12196 Georgia Ave. in Wheaton-Glenmont, on the same block as Trippy Tacos and Seafood in the Buff and near Popeyes. Now we know that a $500K permit has been granted for construction to begin on the space, per Maryland Newsletters.
