According to MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer, the crash occurred on the Outer Loop in the area of River Road, near Cabin John Parkway, as traffic approaches the American Legion Bridge. Multiple lanes are blocked.
The Metropolitan Area Transportation Operations Coordination reported at 7:18am that three right travel lanes are blocked on I-495 southbound past Cabin John Parkway, with only one left lane open. Delays on the Outer Loop begin before the I-270 interchange and are also extending back onto I-270 southbound. Officials say an extended closure is expected as crews work the scene.
