Alert Montgomery has sent out a Severe Traffic Alert at 9:13am: “Traffic incident closes all lanes on the Outer Loop of I-495 at Old Georgetown Road (MD-187) Expect significant delays. Seek alternate route.”
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a collision on the inner loop of I-495, between Connecticut Ave. and Georgia Ave. near the Seminary Rd overpass at approximately 3:30am on Saturday morning.

On Friday, a hit-and-run crash on I-270 at around 5 a.m. claimed the lives of Luis Isaac Bran, 17, of Gaithersburg, and Rebeca Gabriela Vasquez Moreno, 16, from El Salvador. They were passengers in a 2018 Toyota RAV4 that was struck by a BMW, which then fled the scene. In the past 24 hours, a GoFundMe fundraiser started by the victims’ families has raised over $12,000. Alert Montgomery has issued a traffic advisory on Friday morning: “Northbound I-270 is closed between Montrose Road and West Montgomery Avenue due to a traffic collision. Drivers are advised to seek an alternate route. Expect significant delays. For more information, contact Maryland State Police.”

Boris Josue Bonilla has been identified by family members as the man who was killed in a crash on the inner loop of I-495 at approximately 3am on Wednesday morning.

Alert Montgomery has sent out a notification stating that the “collision reconstruction investigation is blocking the three left lanes of the Inner Loop of I-495 at Exit 31 (Georgia Ave/MD 97). This may persist through the morning commute. Seek alternate route.” following an early morning crash.
