According to the Maryland State Highway Administration, all northbound lanes of I-270 are now open at MD 109 following a fatal collision that occurred on Monday, May 13. There are still lanes closed on SB I-270 and traffic remains heavy.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) are currently at the scene of a car fire on I-270 South, just before Exit 9.
UPDATE: All NB lanes have reopened. 2 SB left lanes remain blocked with 1 right lane open. MD-109 remains blocked in both directions.

The Maryland State Police have released additional information regarding a fatal collision involving a pedestrian that occurred Saturday night.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a collision that involved two vehicles and one pedestrian struck on I-270 Saturday night. MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer has stated that the pedestrian struck “seems to be a driver who ran from the crash scene and was struck”
