UPDATE: The lockdown has been lifted at Fox Chapel Elementary School. There is no known threat at this time. The students will return to their normal dismissal and extra-curricular activities.
According to Montgomery County Police, a Germantown man has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of sexual abuse of a minor.
Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Zeckariah Lopez, a missing 13-year-old from Germantown. (more…)
Montgomery Parks is inviting the public to select one of two design options proposed for a new skate park at Ovid Hazen Wells Recreational Park in Clarksburg.
Clarksburg-based Robotic Research Autonomous Industries (RRAI) has announced that it has changed its name to Forterra. The driverless tech company is located at 22521 Gateway Center Drive in Clarksburg. The name Forterra combines “for” as in “directed to” or “belonging to,” with “terra,” from Latin meaning “earth” or “solid ground.” In addition, its implied qualities include “forte” from Latin fortem or “strong” – an ability to withstand a great force or pressure. And RR – the double Rs pay homage to the company’s prior name – “Robotic Research” – and its 20+ year history. In 2021, the company announced a $228 million round of funding.
