MCPS shared this week that art teacher Jonathan Roth recently wrote his seventh children’s book with his eighth coming out on October 1st. Bangkok Garden has leased the space that was the longtime home of Good Fortune Cafe in Kentlands Square. Good Fortune Cafe, which has been serving the area since 1994 (according to its website), closed in August and is planning to return to a new location (news coming soon).
Palacio De Peru is set to open at 19222 Montgomery Village Ave in the Montgomery Village Center, taking over the space previously occupied by Moe’s Southwest Grill, which closed at the end of August.
Bring your blankets and lawn chairs to the Community Green for an evening that’s free and fun for the whole family. Grab a snack from your favorite Cabin John Village restaurant and enjoy free movies on the second Friday of every month. Family fun begins at 6:30PM and movies begin at sunset.

In 2011, ISI Elite Training founder Adam Rice opened his first facility in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Adam selected the name ISI Elite Training based on Proverbs 27:17: “Iron Sharpens Iron, as one person sharpens another.” Now, the training facility has signed on to open its first Montgomery County location in the Traville Village Center in Rockville.
“Disney has asked a select few regional theaters to take a shot at their own productions of this animated classic, and it’s no surprise that Olney Theatre Center got the call!” The show will be at Olney Theatre (2001 Olney-Sandy Spring Road, Olney, MD 20832) from October 24th until January 5th.

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has issued a traffic advisory in Germantown for a “traffic collision has Wisteria Drive closed at Misty Meadow Terrace. Drivers are advised to seek an alternate route.”
The 31st annual Oktoberfest returns to transform the Kentlands in Gaithersburg, with multiple stages of live entertainment featuring traditional Bavarian music & dancing, along with local, regional & national talent. The event will take place on Sunday, October 13th from 12pm-5pm.
