The Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District and Bethesda Urban Partnership are seeking artists for the Signal Box Public Art project. Fifteen signal boxes located throughout downtown Bethesda have been selected for artistic vinyl wraps to adorn the boxes.

Readers have noted that the restaurant has been closed for a few weeks and our phone calls have gone unanswered since the start of the month. According to Maryland Today (produced by the University of Maryland office of marketing and communications), Vice President for Student Affairs Patty Perillo sent the following email to the campus community on Friday afternoon regarding lifting the suspension of 32 fraternities and sororities.
On February 2, the Montgomery County Board of Education (BOE) and Dr. Monifa McKnight mutually agreed to part ways. Now, Montgomery Perspective reports that McKnight was paid $1.3 million. “That includes $1,183,250 in wages, $30,000 in attorney fees, $20,225 in deferred compensation, $18,525 for a tax sheltered annual annuity plan and $48,000 for an annual annuity.” Additional information on the separation agreement can be found in the Montgomery Perspective article and the separation agreement has been published by the Washington Post.

According to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office, “Today in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, MD, before the Honorable Bibi Berry, defendant, Nickolis Williams, 33, of Wheaton, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for the death of 29-year-old Darcel Cole. Williams faces up to 30 years in prison per conditions of a plea agreement. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for May 30, 2024.” (more…)
