Maryland

On Wednesday, the City of Baltimore announced it had reached a settlement with “ghost gun” manufacturer Polymer80. The City of Baltimore will receive $1.2 million in damages and Polymer80 will be prohibited from selling its product to Maryland residents.

MoCo Recreation

Construction on the South County Regional Recreation and Aquatic Center (1315 Apple Ave) began in 2019 and is now complete. The new facility, located in Downtown Silver Spring, will hold its grand opening on Saturday, February 24th at 10am and we have a few photos to give you a peek at the facility before the event, courtesy of Montgomery Recreation (additional photos below).

Education

Hundreds of students packed the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) College Fair earlier this month to meet representatives from more than 50 HBCUs and organizations. Students in Grades 8-12 picked up information on admissions, financial aid, testing and majors.
