Councilmember Natali Fani-González introduced Zoning Text Amendment 26-05, known as the Job Creation Project, aimed at attracting major employers, encouraging new job creation and supporting economic development in Montgomery County. The proposal would create an expedited development approval process for projects in strategic industries identified in the County’s Economic Development Strategic Plan or for projects expected to generate at least 200 jobs. Wellness Redefined, a collaboration between House Beautiful, Women’s Health, and Men’s Health, recently highlighted two Maryland cities in its ranking of the places with the best quality of life in 2026, using data from U.S. News & World Report.

Event

General admission is $25 per person, which includes chili tastings. Free Admission for kids under 18, Police Officers and their Family is provided by MCPF). All proceeds benefit the Foundation’s mission to strengthen community-police relationships, support officers wellness, and enhance public safety initiatives across Montgomery County.

In addition to delicious chili, attendees can enjoy local craft beer from Lone Oak Brewery, family activities, and opportunities to meet and interact with Montgomery County police officers in a fun, relaxed setting.


Arts

Andrew Italia is a Quince Orchard High School graduate and MoCo resident. When he was in college at the University of Maryland, he was the movie critic for The Maryland Diamondback. During his time as the movie critic, he began making Oscar predictions for all 24 categories. His all-time record is 21 out of 24, but he usually falls in the 18-20 range.
