Gaithersburg

Daytime Eats, a breakfast and lunch spot located at 7889 Cessna Ave that opened in the summer of 2018 in Gaithersburg, is available to purchase for $180,000 according to a listing on BizBuySell. The restaurant is described as an “established, creative, deli concept.”

Montgomery Parks

Montgomery Parks, part of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, announces programming and operating hours for the 2022 winter holiday break with a variety of events for the whole family.     

Extended Open Parkways Schedule: The Open Parkways will be extended during the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. During this time, parkways are open to pedestrians and bicyclists and closed to motor vehicles.


Dickerson

Per the Fair Access Committee: As calls intensify for the reopening of White’s Ferry, members of Fair Access for Western Montgomery County and residents of Poolesville will unite at the ferry site on December 29th to mark the two-year anniversary of the shuttering of this vital service that served 800 cars daily.

The 240-year-old community connector ceased operation in December of 2020 after a decade-long lawsuit in the Circuit Court of Loudoun County over their use of private land for a Virginia landing. A critical component of our region’s transportation network, closure of the ferry has hit the town of Poolesville especially hard.


MoCo Police

This task force typically starts the week before thanksgiving and ends the first week of January. Montgomery County Police officers and officers from allied agencies (Maryland Transportation Authority Police, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Rockville City Police, Takoma Park Police, Gaithersburg Police, Maryland State Police and Maryland National Capital Park Police) volunteer to work the task force.


White Oak

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 16-year-old from White Oak.

Loc Nguyen was last seen on Friday, December 16, 2022, at approximately 7:00 p.m., in the 11500 block of Stewart Lane. Nguyen is approximately 5-feet, 3-inches tall and weighs 100 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. Police and family are concerned for his welfare.


Rockville

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 14-year-old from Rockville.  Allison Espinales was last seen on Monday, December 12, 2022, at approximately 1 p.m., at her residence on Canterbury Lane in Rockville.

Espinales is approximately 5-feet tall and weighs 110 pounds. She has reddish hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a white sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and gray Jordan sneakers.  Police and family are concerned for her welfare.


Gaithersburg

At approximately 2:19 a.m., 6th District officers responded to the Boost Mobile store in the 18300 block of Contour Rd. for the report of a burglary in progress.


Business

Popular Potomac dessert spot, Sprinkles, is available for sale, according to a listing in BizBuySell. The 34-year-old family owned ice cream store and bakery can be bought for $850,000. The shop located in the Potomac Village shopping center and is described as being approximately 600-700SF. Traffic

West Gude Dr at Piccard Dr in Rockville is currently shut down due to a traffic collision, according to Montgomery County Police. Chief Spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Pete Piringer reports that the two vehicle collision involves a rollover and entrapment. Three people have been transported to the hospital. Drivers should expect delays and seek alternate routes. We will post an update when additional information becomes available.

Per Imagination Stage: Imagination Stage™, the metro DC region’s largest professional theatre for children, continues the run of its hit rock musical Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed: the Rock Experience during the winter holiday week, with many matinees from December 26-December 31.
