All 2022 high school and college graduates can score a FREE Haus Dog at any of the three MoCo Dog Haus locations from now until June 30th! Limit one per graduate. Just show your student ID.
The first Dog Haus opened in Pasadena, CA in 2010. In 2018, the restaurant opened its first east coast location in Bethesda (7904 Woodmont Ave). The Gaithersburg location (644 Center Point Way) opened in January of 2020 and Silver Spring (933 Ellsworth Dr.) in 2021.
Life shouldn’t be about views, likes, and shares, but this article will be as we take a look back at the upcoming restaurants that have created the most buzz on our website and associated social media accounts in the last two months. Today we’re going to highlight the seven (in no particular order) that have generated the most buzz in terms of views, likes, and shares as we prepare to move into summer:

Burned down in the 1970s, Germantown Train Station was rebuilt to its 19th century splendor, the vision of a famous Baltimore architect.
Today, Germantown Train Station is used as a waiting room for commuters and has a coffee shop, Alafia Crossing, operated by Bota King. More than 800 passengers board the trains that leave the MARC (Maryland Area Regional Commuter) train in Germantown every weekday morning, a stop along the Brunswick Line that travels from West Virginia to Washington, DC.CSX Transportation owns this line of rail. But the tracks used to be part of a Baltimore & Ohio network dating back to the 19th century.
Yannick Deumeni Ngaleu died on his 21st birthday after he helped save a child who was caught in a rip current. According to a fundraiser created by Yannick’s family, he was able to successfully help the child get out and went back into the water help the child’s father. After helping the child’s father get out, Yannick disappeared under the water on the afternoon of Monday, June 13th, Yannick’s birthday, at approximately 3pm.
Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard of Myrtle Beach said the body of the 21 year old man was recovered at approximately 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 14th. Yannick was a Silver Spring resident who grew up in the area and graduated from Springbrook High School. His brother, Thierry Pouassi Ngaleu, started a fundraiser just over a day ago to help his family send Yannick’s body back to his birthplace of Cameroon. Nearly $30,000 have been raised for the young man who died a hero.
Saphire, located at 7940 Wisconsin Ave, has just announced that it will be closing permanently. The popular Bethesda nightlife location posted the following message on its Facebook page:

SummerFest kicks off at 6 p.m. with Nation, one of DC’s top dance bands. Enjoy delicious offerings from food and local craft beverage vendors, including Dogfish Head, Landmade, Lone Oak, Steinhardt Brewing, True Respite, and Waredaca. ATMs available onsite. The air-conditioned Activity Center will serve as a comfort station with indoor bathrooms and space to relax up until 9 p.m.
Once it gets nice and dark (approximately 9:25 p.m.), a spectacular fireworks display will light up the night with bursts of amazing colors and styles that launch up to 500 feet. Bohrer Park is the best place to watch them, but there are several viewing options in surrounding locations. A map identifying best viewing spots is available here.
The right lane of southbound 355, starting 335 feet south of Marinelli Rd. until 500 feet north of Marinelli Rd on Rockville Pike will be closed beginning Wednesday, June 23 from 9am until 3pm on weekdays for a gas main replacement. The temporary closure is expected to be completed no later than July 29th. A letter, seen below, was sent by Washington Gas to the community regarding the repairs and lane closure.
“Beginning, Wednesday June 23rd at 9 a.m., NPL Company will perform a replacement project operation to replace approximately 835′ of gas main at the intersection of Rockville Pike and Marinelli Rd.
Angel Mendoza, who was the chef behind the recently closed Baronessa in Rockville and Angel’s Pizza and Pasta in Wheaton Mall, is back with a new restaurant. His newest venture, an Italian restaurant named Terra Mare, is located at 2504 Ennals Ave in Wheaton– the former location of Intipuqueño Restaurant.
Terra Mare will feature pasta, pizza, “a la parilla” which means “on the grill” and features various steaks as well as fajitas, seafood, chicken dishes, soups, and salads. The restaurant will be open Sunday-Thursday from 11am until midnight, and Friday/Saturday from 11am until 1am.
Guatemalteca was transported to an area hospital, where he remained in the intensive care unit until his passing on June 15.
Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are now investigating this collision as a fatality. If charges are to be filed against the driver, it will be done following completion of the investigation and in consultation with the Montgomery County State’s Attorney.
