OMA Sushi & Oyster Bar to Open at The Block
This past weekend, signs for Oma Sushi & Oyster Bar went up at a stall in The Block in Pike & Rose. We spoke to a representative for Oma, who said that they hope to be open by the end of August.
8/16 Update: Tiger Sugar Rockville announced on its social media that the Grand Opening will take place on August 28th from 11:30am-10pm.
Tiger Sugar will be taking over the old Jamba Juice location at 12266E in Federal Plaza.

Grilled Oyster Co. in Gaithersburg to Open This Week
The Grilled Oyster Co., which closed its Potomac location back in April, has announced they will be opening their new location at 200 Main St. in the Kentlands (formerly Batik Dumpling Bar), sometime this week.
Pooch Pool Party August 21 & 22 in Gaithersburg
Montgomery County Recreation will be holding Pooch Pool Parties on Saturday August 21 and Sunday August 22 from 11am-3pm at the Upper County Outdoor Pool at 8211 Emory Grove Rd in Gaithersburg.
Montgomery Parks will operate its annual deer population management program from September 2021 through March 2022.
The program was started 25 years ago to address overabundant deer populations in many areas of the county.
Steve Atwater was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame last night, having to wait a year due to Covid postponing last year‘s ceremony. The hard-hitting safety was one of the most feared players in the NFL during his time as a player.
Atwater won two Super Bowls in 10 seasons with the Broncos before finishing his career with the Jets in 1999. After his pro career came to an end, he lived in Georgia where he coached his two oldest sons youth football teams and started a real estate company.
