Bring your family and friends to our free , all-day outdoor Oktoberfest celebration. These will be an outdoor craft fair featuring local artisans and professional woodworkers, a chainsaw carving, woodworking and tool demonstrations by Festool, Montgomery Wood Turners and Carvers. Montgomery County Councilmember Laurie-Anne Sayles introduced a $1 million one-time special appropriation, co-sponsored by Council President Natali Fani-González and other councilmembers, to help stabilize senior nutrition, homecare, and respite care programs impacted by federal funding cuts.
The proposal is intended as immediate relief for vulnerable residents while maintaining long-term fiscal responsibility and will be considered at a public hearing later this month.
