The Montgomery County Council will review Expedited Bill 19-25 on Monday, July 28, which proposes a seasonal exemption allowing landscape professionals to use gas-powered leaf blowers from October 1 to December 31, weekdays between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., with the exemption set to expire three years after enactment. The lead sponsor of Bill 19-25 is Councilmember Gabe Albornoz, with Councilmembers Dawn Luedtke, Marilyn Balcombe and Sidney Katz as cosponsors. (more…)

Michael C. Okolo, 68, of Parkville, MD has been charged for a fourth time, this time with obstruction of justice and fabricating evidence, in connection with an ongoing insurance fraud case in Baltimore County, with previous charges including theft, fraud, and acting as an unlicensed insurance agent.

MCDOT

In response to a Heat Emergency Alert in effect through Monday morning, Montgomery County’s Department of Transportation (MCDOT) is providing free bottled water on Ride On buses. The effort aims to keep passengers safe and hydrated during dangerously high temperatures, with heat index values expected to reach 105 degrees or more.
