In 2023, New York’s famous H&H Bagels entered a new era of expansion, with agreements in place for 25 new restaurants, including 10 units in the DC area. Now, the first DC location will open at 601 K Street, NW on Thursday, June 12th– about 6.5 miles away from the Maryland line.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies, while serving a Writ of Restitution (eviction), found an unconscious individual in a residence with a gas stove emitting gas. After securing the residence, waking the individual, and de-escalating their agitation, deputies ensured the person was safely transported to an emergency facility for necessary mental health treatment.

Clarksburg

The fourth annual DMV Veteran Shark Tank pitch competition will take place on June 12, at the Clarksburg Premium Outlets, in honor of Women Veterans Appreciation Day. The event, presented by Prince George’s Community College and United Way of the National Capital Area, features three female veteran entrepreneurs competing for a $5,000 prize, along with mentorship and business support services. Governor Wes Moore has appointed Betsy Fox Tolentino as Acting Secretary of the Maryland Department of Juvenile Services, effective June 11, 2025, citing her experience in juvenile justice and leadership roles both within the department and in national nonprofit work.
