Rockville

The Rockville Mayor and Council, along with the city’s Environment Commission, presented Environmental Excellence Awards in June to honor local contributions to sustainability. Dawn Samen was recognized for her long-term litter cleanup efforts in Twinbrook, while Ingleside at King Farm was honored for its composting program and environmentally friendly dining practices.

Jamie has written extensively on this topic and draws from a life-long career in journalism, including his time at the Pentagon on 9/11.

The Maryland Renaissance Festival, which takes places annually at 1821 Crownsville Rd in Annapolis, returns for its 49th season from August 23 through October 19, offering nine weekends of family-friendly entertainment, jousting, artisan crafts, food, and performances in the 27-acre Village of Revel Grove. The dark days are almost behind us. The sun’s setting a little earlier, the pads are coming out of the storage bins, and footballs are starting to fly through humid summer air. Rockville’s water met or exceeded all federal quality standards in 2024, according to the city’s Annual Drinking Water Quality Report, which also highlights recent plant upgrades and ongoing efforts to improve safety, reliability, and compliance with EPA regulations.
