A Maryland woman was sentenced to five years of suspended incarceration and five years of probation after pleading guilty to Medicaid fraud for falsely billing over $7,700 in home health care services she did not provide.

The City of Gaithersburg is hosting its annual SportsFest– an event that celebrates all things sports with a morning full of fun and activity for youth entering grades K through 8. This free, rain-or-shine event takes place at Bohrer Park at Summit Hall Farm on Saturday, July 12th and highlights the City’s philosophy of participation over competition.
Jamie McIntyre, former CNN military affairs and senior Pentagon correspondent, as well as former Washington Examiner senior writer for defense and national security, will speak about how the events on 9/11 and the aftermath ushered in a “post-truth” era in America. Today, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland announced the arrest of Evester Edd, 64, of Silver Spring, Maryland. Edd, a former senior human resources employee for the Peace Corps, is charged with wire fraud, theft of government funds, and making false statements to federal agents.
