Announcement

On August 22, the New Neighbor Interfaith Alliance (NNIA) will host the 2026 Set Them Up for Success Volleyball Tournament and Family Fun Day from 9 am-4 pm at the Interdenominational Church of God in Gaithersburg, gathering volleyball teams, faith community members, and the public to raise funds to help recent refugees in Montgomery County attain independence.

An interfaith non-profit alliance of 37 faith communities and civic groups, NNIA raises funds to help resettled refugees with rental assistance, deferred medical care, English language skills and job placement. They also hope to expand their volunteer numbers to help more beneficiaries with job assistance, reliable transportation, and mentoring.

“Beverly Hills, 90210” was a wildly popular television series that debuted in 1990, influencing pop culture by portraying the lives of affluent teenagers in Southern California, tackling issues such as relationships, identity, and social challenges. The show was created by Montgomery County native Darren Star and it was almost called Potomac 20854.

MoCo Government

Montgomery County continues snow-clearing operations following the region’s first major snowfall in years, with crews focusing on residential streets after addressing primary roads twice during the storm. The snow emergency will end at 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7, but travel remains hazardous, and residents are urged to stay off the roads, clear sidewalks, and check on neighbors during the extreme cold.
