Bethesda

Fanisa Mthembi was last seen on Friday, August 26, 2022, at approximately 11:41 a.m. Mthembi had ordered a ride share to the airport, but never arrived for her flight leaving out of Dulles International Airport.

26-year-old Mthembi is an Au Pair, and was last seen leaving her employer’s home in Bethesda. She was wearing a white tunic top, blue jeans, carrying a large white purse and two large pink suitcases.


Gaithersburg

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a vehicle collision that occurred on the afternoon of Monday, August 29, 2022, in the 400 block of Orchard Ridge Dr. in Gaithersburg.

At approximately 2:48 p.m., Montgomery County and Gaithersburg Police officers along with Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the location for a traffic collision involving a vehicle that crashed into two townhomes.


Bethesda

The second incident occurred on Saturday, July 20, at the same location. The responding officer met with the school principal, who stated two male juveniles were seen spray painting vulgarities on the school walls, basketball court and track. The principal believed the individuals appeared to be the same subjects involved in the first vandalism at the school. Officers were called to the school again, on Sunday, August 21. Responding officers discovered that a wall near the baseball field had been vandalized with spray paint.

During the course of the investigation, two juvenile males were identified and charged on August 24 and August 26, with three counts of malicious destruction of property, related to the vandalisms on the above dates. The juveniles were released to their parents and their cases are now being handled by the Montgomery County Department of Juvenile Services. Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) may apply disciplinary measures in accordance with the MCPS Student Code of Conduct.

Bethesda

The cyclist, 42-year-old Sarah Joan Langenkamp, was in the bicycle lane when the Volvo turned right into the parking lot of 5244 River Rd. and struck Langenkamp, who was run over by the Volvo. Montgomery County Fire Rescue responded, and Langenkamp was pronounced dead on scene.  This is an active and ongoing investigation. Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to contact CRU detectives at 240-773-6620.

Original 8/25 Report: A bicyclist was struck on eastbound River Road between the Kenwood Station shopping center and Landry Lane in Bethesda at approximately 4pm on Thursday afternoon.


Burtonsville

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 13-year-old from Silver Spring.

Zanaiya Neil was last seen on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at approximately 12 p.m., in the 4200 block of Cloudberry Court in Burtonsville.


Colesville

At approximately 4:35 p.m., 4th District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the location for the report of a traffic collision.

The preliminary at-scene investigation by detectives has determined that the driver of a light green 2007 Nissan Altima was attempting to turn left from eastbound Randolph Road into a parking lot in the 500 block of Randolph Road. The driver of a red 2017 Honda Civic was traveling west on Randolph Road. The vehicles collided in the westbound lanes.


Fairland

On Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at approximately 9:54 a.m., 3rd District officers were dispatched to the location for the report of a fraud that occurred earlier.

The investigation by detectives has determined that on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at approximately 3 p.m., Young arrived at the dealership and purchased a 2020 Silver Toyota Prius and a 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid with two fraudulent checks.


Gaithersburg

Zion Allen was last seen on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at approximately 9 p.m. in the 10000 block of Polk Square Court.

Allen is approximately 5-feet, 8-inches tall and weighs 170 pounds. He has dark brown hair, that he wears in locks and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black Nike jacket, white shorts, and red headphones. He was carrying a multi-colored, “Jordan” backpack and was riding a blue and white bicycle.


Cloverly

At approximately 10p.m., 4th District Officers responded to the location for the report of a burglary that just occurred.

The investigation by detectives has determined that two suspects forced entry into the gas station, stole an undisclosed amount of money and left the scene.


North Bethesda

The preliminary investigation by detectives has determined that a white Audi A4 was traveling eastbound on Josiah Henson Pkwy, when for reasons still under investigation, it was struck by a silver Ford Fusion coming from the northbound 355 ramp. The vehicles collided in the intersection.
