On Friday, January 24th, MCPS will hold its 12th annual historically black colleges and universities (HBCU) college fair (6pm-8pm) with on the spot admission interviews from 3:30pm-8pm.

This free event will provide students in Grades 8–12 an opportunity to meet representatives from more than 60 HBCUs. Representatives will share information and answer questions from students and parents about admissions, financial aid, testing, majors and much more. Online registration is required to attend. This is a great opportunity to start your college search!

The move also brings MCPS into alignment with other regional school systems, including Frederick, Howard and Prince George’s counties, as well as Fairfax County, all of which require 60 college credits for substitute teacher eligibility.

MCPS received feedback from partners, including Montgomery College, the Montgomery County Council of PTAs (MCCPTA), school-based staff, teachers, principals and employee associations.
