The Maryland State Highway Administration District 3 has developed a proposal in response to safety concerns raised by residents, the Mayor, and Councilmember Dyballa, for MD 410 Ethan Allen Avenue and Elm Avenue in Takoma Park.
The proposal would restrict travel at the intersection in the following ways:
Per Montgomery County:
Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich, County Councilmember Craig Rice and the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) today introduced new dedicated bus lanes at the Germantown Transit Center. The lanes, which have been painted red and are located on Crystal Rock Drive, Century Boulevard, and Aircraft Drive, allow buses to easily access the transit center.
Per the City of Rockville:
Baltimore Road has reopened to vehicle and pedestrian traffic between Gladstone and Broadwood drives as construction continues to improve safety and access along the corridor between Rockville Town Center and the city’s east side.

Per Montgomery Planning:
Four vehicles were involved in a collision that led to two of them catching fire on southbound I-270 on Thursday evening causing some lanes to be blocked, but no injuries.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue units quickly arrived on the scene to extinguish the fires that occurred in the area of the weigh station between Route 109 and Route 121.
(ROCKVILLE, MD) – A Maryland state trooper was struck while conducting a traffic stop on southbound I-270 early this morning in Montgomery County.
A six vehicle collision has closed the local lanes of I-270 just north of Montrose Rd, according to Chief Spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Pete Piringer.
MCFRS is currently at the scene.
A Maryland Stare Trooper that was performing a separate traffic stop was struck this morning at exit 6 on I-270 (West Montgomery Avenue).
The trooper was transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries, according to Chief Spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Pete Piringer.
The Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) has initiated a Multi Modal Shared Streets pilot project, to be implemented on MD 193 (University Blvd.) between Amherst Avenue and Arcola Avenue in Wheaton, Montgomery County.
This project will temporarily repurpose travel lanes to enhance safety and mobility for all roadway users.
Sligo Ave is blocked between Fenton St and Grove St in Silver Spring due to a natural gas leak.
Chief Spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Pete Piringer reports that a construction crew hit a gas line and MCFRS is currently on the scene.
Management from Crown in Gaithersburg has notified us that the concrete barriers in Decoverly have been removed as of yesterday
Decoverly drive is now open to traffic from Great Seneca Highway and Fields Road. The barriers have been there since Crown started moving people in back in 2013.
