Silver Branch Brewing Co. at 8401 Colesville Rd #150 in Silver Spring will be holding an event this Saturday, January 15 at 5pm, celebrating the life of Betty White on what would have been her 100th birthday weekend. White passed away at age 99 on December 31, 2021.
The brewery will have themed cocktails and will be showing episodes of the Golden Girls on their taproom projector. One dollar from every “Betty White” cocktail sold will be donated the Key to Lion’s Heart rescue.
Back in November of 2020, we let you know that Jongro BBQ, a popular New York Korean BBQ restaurant, is opening up shop at Wheaton Mall. The latest update we have received from Westfield Wheaton is that the restaurant is on schedule to open next month.
The restaurant received its alcohol license from the county on January 6th.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded to a townhouse fire on the 300blk of W Deer Park Rd in Gaithersburg on Wednesday morning around 3am.
Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer reports that up to 20 people from six different townhouse units are displaced.

The National Weather Service has increased the risk for Sunday’s potential winter storm to moderate for Upper MoCo and enhanced for C/SE MoCo. Per their map in our featured photo, the confidence for the winter storm has also increased to moderate for upper MoCo and enhanced for C/SE MoCo.

To help ensure the health and safety of our patrons, performers and staff, effective immediately the City of Gaithersburg will require a photo ID & proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 to attend all indoor performances at the Arts Barn & Kentlands Mansion. Unvaccinated children under 12 years of age & patrons with a medical condition or closely-held religious belief preventing vaccination must provide proof of a negative PCR test conducted no more than 72 hours prior to the performance. Digital or printed copies of vaccination cards & negative PCR tests will be accepted. Please note that this policy is subject to change pending Montgomery County Board of Health vaccination requirement regulations currently under consideration.
