The National Weather Service released its latest expected snowfall maps this morning with all of MoCo coming in on the 3-4” range.
In the images you’ll also see a “reasonable worst case scenario” map showing a possible 6-7” if there’s a boom scenario and a “low end amount” map that shows just over an inch area-wide.

Landmade Brewery has announced that they will be opening in early February.
The farm brewery, which was built in a repurposed cattle stable, will be located on Jerusalem Road in Poolesville and will include a tasting room, an in-house run food truck, and a general store.

At their meeting on Monday, January 3, 2022, the Mayor & City Council conducted a public hearing and then enacted emergency legislation to limit residential rent increases due to the impact of COVID-19. By a vote of 3 to 2, the elected officials amended Chapter 13 of the City Code, “Landlord-Tenant Relations,” to prohibit residential rent increases in excess of Montgomery County’s Voluntary Rent Guideline & prohibit notices of residential rent increase in excess of Montgomery County’s Voluntary Rent Guideline prior to May 15, 2022.

Notes from the January 5 COVID-19 Media Briefing
-County Executive Marc Elrich discussed his experience with COVID-19 over the past week, saying his symptoms included a sore throat and waves of fatigue. He was mostly without a fever throughout and said his experience reinforced that vaccines prevent hospitalizations.
Per the State of Maryland:
ANNAPOLIS, MD—At today’s meeting of the Board of Public Works (BPW), Governor Larry Hogan provided an update on the COVID-19 state of emergency and steps the state is taking to address the national testing shortage. As of today, the state is reporting 3,118 COVID-19 hospitalizations, which is an increase of 61 over yesterday.
Last December we told you that GameWorks and The Works Kitchen were coming to the lower level of Westfield Montgomery Mall, next to Old Navy. Unfortunately, the company announced this week that it has closed all of itslocations and will no longer be opening any new ones.
