Taste of MCPS: Menu Concept Taste Test for Students

The Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Division of Food and Nutrition Services is hosting its second annual The Taste of MCPS – Menu Concept Taste Test for Students. Over 100 students in grades 6-11 will evaluate innovative concepts and sample new flavors. Feedback from the students will be incorporated into the menu development process for the 2023-2024 school year. Twenty concepts from national manufacturers from all across the country will be sampled, including:

  • Korean BBQ Chicken
  • Baja Fish Tacos
  • Thai Style Chicken and Rice Bowl
  • Mandarin Chicken Bahn Mi
  • Plant Based “Chicken” Primavera

WHAT: Students taste testing innovative menu concepts to be incorporated into 2023-2024 school menu development

WHEN: Wednesday, February 15, 2023 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

WHERE: 8401 Turkey Thicket Drive, Gaithersburg, MD 20879

WHO: 100 students from Parkland, Thomas W. Pyle and Rosa Parks Middle Schools, as well as Bethesda Chevy-Chase, Gaithersburg, Walter Johnson, Richard Montgomery and Seneca Valley High Schools.

Free Community Father-Daughter Dance

Fathers and father figures, create unforgettable memories with your daughter at our free community father-daughter dance on June 1st, from 6-8 pm. Hosted outdoors at Olney Baptist Church. This event offers a delightful outdoor experience complete with a DJ spinning tunes, interactive games, a charming photo booth, delicious treats, and exciting raffle prizes.
