Forfeit Shocks Maryland High School Football Playoffs

C.H. Flowers High School of Prince George’s County has been disqualified from the Maryland State Football Playoffs, according to a report from Fox 5’s high school football reporter, Chad Ricardo.

According to Ricardo, Flowers is being forced to forfeit their game against Eleanor Roosevelt High School tonight due to an ineligible player on the roster. Flowers finished 9-2 this season and were trying to make it back to the State Championship game where they lost to Quince Orchard High School last year. Ricardo’s full post on social media can be seen below:

“Flowers Jags have been disqualified from the MD4A playoffs. They have been informed by PGC PUBLIC SCHOOLS that tonight’s match up with Eleanor Roosevelt has been forfeited

According to sources familiar with situation, Flowers is alleged to have a student athlete on roster who has played/been enrolled for 5 seasons.

I spoke with Coach Powell who confirmed the disqualification, he’s stated he is still in disbelief and is not yet ready to comment. He has not been shown proof of the allegations as of yet.
