Detectives Investigate Armed Robbery of Amazon Fresh; Surveillance Video of Suspects Released


Per MCPD: 
Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating a commercial robbery that occurred on Monday, November 20, 2023, at the Amazon Fresh in the 5400 block of Wisconsin Avenue. Detectives have released surveillance video of the suspects and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying them.

At approximately 12:43 p.m., 2nd District officers responded to the location for the report of a commercial armed robbery. The investigation by detectives has revealed that four suspects entered the store and began filling bags full of items. When an employee approached two of the suspects, one of the suspects pulled up his shirt, displayed a handgun in his waistband and announced the robbery. The employee then backed away and all four suspects left the store, headed in the director of the Friendship Heights Metro Station, carrying bags full of stolen items.

Detectives review the surveillance footage of the store and obtained a description of the suspects. Suspect one is described as a Black male with a medium build, approximately 6-feet, 1-inch tall and 180 pounds with a beard. Suspect two is described as a Black female, approximately 5-feet, 2-inches tall and 220 pounds. Her hair was dyed orange and styled in braids. Suspect three and four are described as two Black males, one with a medium build and the other with a beard.

Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding this crime or the suspects involved to call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the suspects. Callers may remain anonymous.
