The Adventure Park at Sandy Spring Receives Citation from Governor Wes Moore

Per the Adventure Park at Sandy Spring: “On 12/20, The Adventure Park at Sandy Spring received a Governor’s Citation in recognition of multiple awards and industry-wide accomplishments in 2023.

These awards included winning Best Amusement Park and Climbing Destination in the DMV for the second consecutive year in the Washington Parent Magazine competition.

Earlier this year, The Adventure Park at Sandy Spring also became the 4th park of its kind in the country to achieve “Accredited” status with (ACCT) The Association For Challenge Course Technology. ACCT is the leading governing body and standard setter for the Ropes Course & Zipline industry. The Adventure Park remains the only Accredited park in Maryland, D.C., or Virginia.

“What started as a unique fundraising opportunity for Sandy Spring Friends School has turned into an industry-leading Aerial Adventure Park.” – John Hines, Owner & GM. “I could never have imagined on our opening day back in 2010, we’d be the first park in Maryland to complete the thorough Accreditation process, which didn’t even exist at the time, let alone have multiple team members speaking at conferences, and winning awards where we beat out nationally known Theme Parks.

The Adventure Park team thanks Governor Moore & Lt. Gov. Miller for the Citation and recognition of our accomplishments and service to the state of Maryland.”
