Dashboard and Body-Worn Camera Footage from Fatal Police Pursuit Released

The Office of the Maryland Attorney General has released the dashboard and body-worn camera footage from a fatal police pursuit that occurred on December 13, 2023, in Wheaton-Glenmont.


Per the press release: The IID will generally release body-worn camera and dashboard camera footage within 20 business days of an incident. The release of body-worn camera and dashboard camera footage in this incident was delayed to allow investigators additional time to review video footage and conduct witness interviews. The Independent Investigations Division continues to investigate the circumstances of the fatal pursuit.

According to Montgomery County Police, “At approximately 10:17 p.m., 4th District officers were attempting to stop a suspect that struck a marked police cruiser and fled during a traffic stop. The suspect, driving a white Nissan Maxima, crashed into a Toyota Corolla before colliding with a Honda Pilot at Georgia Avenue and Henderson Avenue (Wheaton-Glenmont.) One occupant inside of the Maxima was apprehended after the collision. A second occupant inside of the Maxima was pronounced dead at the scene.
