The Comus Inn to Reopen on April 16th

Last year, The Comus Inn (23900 Old Hundred Rd, Dickerson) announced that it was sold and would be closing on November 26th, with new ownership taking over in December. Now, we know it will be reopening on Tuesday, April 16th.

From the teams behind H2-Collective (Washington, DC), Solace Outpost (Falls Church, VA), and Vanish Farmwood Brewery (Lucketts, VA), comes the new Comus Inn at Sugarloaf Mountain. Starting later this spring/early summer, Vanish Farmwood Brewery will set up their beer garden behind the Inn, offering their craft brews alongside tacos with weekly live music featuring your favorite local bands.

Vanish is a “63-acre, family-owned farm-brewery in beautiful Lucketts, VA. It’s known for good beer and a laid-back vibe. With the use of local ingredients, we focus on bringing you beer that is plant-to-pint and seed-to-sip.”

Per Comus Inn: “Executive Chef JR Tiernan formerly of Dominion Wine & Beer, Falls Church’s much-lauded wine bar and bottle shop, leads the kitchen with his spin on classic Americana-driven tavern fare, seasonal small plates, and artfully-crafted charcuterie. With the re-launch of the beloved Comus Inn, Chef JR’s classic but playful cuisine finds a new audience and a new backdrop, marrying French culinary traditions with local meats, produce, and dairy to celebrate the wealth of Maryland’s agricultural reserve.”

Originally known as the Johnson-Wolfe Farm, the Comus Inn today is a historic 1860s farmhouse situated on just over five acres of the Maryland Agricultural Reserve, three miles and a world away from the bustling I-270 travel corridor. A farm-centric American tavern, a family-friendly beer and wine garden, and unimpeded views of Sugarloaf Mountain can be expected in the new version of The Comus Inn.

Hours of operation are Tuesday and Wednesday from 4pm-8pm, Thursday and Friday from 4pm-8:30pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 11am-8:30pm. The Comus Inn will be closed on Mondays.
