Events Happening This Weekend (May 11th and 12th, 2024)

Below you will see a list of four bigger events that we are aware of happening this weekend (May 11th and 12th, 2024):

  • The 2024 Bethesda Fine Arts Festival will be held May 11 & 12, 2024 and will feature “fine art created by 120 of the nation’s best artists, live entertainment and Bethesda restaurants.” Additional information can be found here.

 

  • The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) has announced a free family-friendly event, “Community Safety Day,” led by local students. It’s set to take place from 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday, May 11, at the Carver Educational Services Center (CESC) in Rockville. Additional information can be found here.

 

  • MCPS is hosting this year’s Special Education Family Resource Fair on Saturday, May 11 at Montgomery Blair High School (51 University Blvd. East in Silver Spring). The free event will be held from 10am until 1pm,  and is open to MCPS parents, staff and community members. Additional information can be found here.

 

  • Rio is partnering with Locally Crafted for the Spring Makers Market on Saturday, May 11 from 11 AM – 5 PM on Grand Corner Avenue (near Dick’s Sporting Goods) in Gaithersburg. Additional information can be found here.

Free Community Father-Daughter Dance

Fathers and father figures, create unforgettable memories with your daughter at our free community father-daughter dance on June 1st, from 6-8 pm. Hosted outdoors at Olney Baptist Church. This event offers a delightful outdoor experience complete with a DJ spinning tunes, interactive games, a charming photo booth, delicious treats, and exciting raffle prizes. Fathers/father figures and daughters of all ages are warmly welcomed to share in this special evening together. Join us for an evening of joy, laughter, and cherished moments!
