Virginia based Johnny Ray’s Sultry Soul Food in Downtown Silver Spring will open this Saturday, May 11, according to report by Source of the Spring.
The restaurant is located at 923 Sligo Ave, in the space previously occupied by Sligo Cafe. Menu items include fried fish, chicken and waffles, wings, and sides such as mac & cheese, collard greens, and candied yams.
According to its website, “Johnny Ray’s has been catering in the DMV area since 2011. Armed with ambition, old family recipes, and culinary passion, Johnny devotes serious effort to serve real comfort food that soothes the soul. From fried fish and chicken to sweet-potato pie and peach cobbler your taste buds are tantalized with delicious flavorful food. As satisfied customers made more and more requests for Johnny Ray’s home-style cooking, he provided short-order delivery service to meet the needs of the people who love his food. Johnny Ray works hard to showcase genuine charisma, kindness, and authenticity in his craft.
