Brookeville was settled by Quakers late in the 18th century and was formally incorporated as a town in 1808. Just six years later, it became the “U.S. Capital for a Day.”

MoCo is Home to the Longest Set of Single-Span Escalators in the Western Hemisphere

Anyone who has had to walk up any of the escalators in the DC Metro Area would tell you that one of the stations definitely has the longest escalator they’ve experienced, but did you know that Wheaton Metro Station features the longest set of single-span escalators in the entire Western Hemisphere?


Glenmont

In the last year we’ve reported on two upcoming Lidl stores that will be in Glenmont (old Shoppers location) and in Montgomery Village (in the now-vacant Professional Center site that is on Montgomery Village and Centerway, across from the Montgomery Village shopping center).

Governor Larry Hogan announced today that Lidl US, America’s fastest growing retailer, will open 10 new stores and add 400 jobs in Maryland by the end of 2021, more than doubling its footprint in the state.

Our real estate experts, Team Nurit, have provided an update on MoCo real estate for the last 30 days.

The most homes that were sold/under contract were in Silver Spring (190 homes), followed by Gaithersburg and Rockville. The least were in Spencerville and Laytonsville (1 home each).


Education

Zoom, the communications technology company used by many school systems to deliver virtual learning, acknowledged issues that led to many teachers being unable to start or join Zoom meetings this morning.

At 9:50am they issued an update stating that the issue had been identified and that the company is working on a fix.

David Brewster is better known by his stage name, Dave East. He’s a rapper, songwriter, and actor.

From his inclusion in XXL’s 2016 Freshman Class to his mixtapes making it as high as #9 on Billboard, East has made a name for himself in the rap game.
