Damso Korean BBQ opened at 1319 Rockville Pike in April 2023. Less than two years later, the restaurant has closed. The restaurant is listed as temporarily closed in Google, but it has been cleared out and an employee of DANJI in Centreville, VA (Damso’s sister restaurant) confirmed the closure.
Montgomery County government has announced holiday schedule changes for Presidents Day on Monday, Feb. 17, including closures for county and state offices, courts, libraries, and permitting services, while Ride On, Metro, and MARC services will operate on modified schedules, and public parking will be free. Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) have already responded to several calls for crashes across the county (20 in less than two hours) on Tuesday evening.
MCPS Weather Update: Closure – Code Red – Announced for Wednesday, Feb. 12
Snow has begun falling, and we are closely monitoring its impact on our schools across the district. With forecasts predicting up to six inches of accumulation by early tomorrow morning, roads, sidewalks, and school campuses will not be safe or accessible for an on-time or delayed opening on Wednesday. However, our teams will be hard at work! Overnight and into the morning, MCPS operations crews will begin clearing snow from buses and depots while plowing, shoveling, and treating school parking lots and sidewalks. Meanwhile, our county partners will be working diligently to prepare highways and neighborhood streets to ensure safer travel conditions. This work will likely take throughout the day on Wednesday as we have 211 schools, seven bus depots and other facilities that will all need to be readied for students, staff and visitors.

Last May we let you know that Mui, a modern Japanese-inspired restaurant, is coming to Pike & Rose. There hasn’t been much movement since then, but the upcoming restaurant has received a $550,000 permit to begin construction on interior renovations.

As we prepare for the Winter Storm Warning to go into effect at 1pm (it lasts until 7am Wednesday morning), the National Weather Service (NWS) has released what’s likely the final update before the start of winter weather in the area.
