On Monday, the Justice Department unsealed criminal charges against Igor Lira, 40, a Slovakia national, for allegedly transmitting a threat in interstate or international commerce containing a threat to injure. Lira made his initial appearance in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland Monday after he was extradited from Germany.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to the scene of a collision at the intersection of Seneca Meadows Parkway and Germantown Road in Germantown at approximately 4:10pm. One vehicle has overturned due to the collision. A cause has not been provided and it’s currently unknown if there are any injuries. Photo courtesy MCFRS.
A Germantown man pleaded guilty in Montgomery County Circuit Court to child sex abuse and related charges, with sentencing scheduled for August 28, 2025, following an investigation that identified multiple victims from incidents between 2016 and 2018. (more…)
