Red Lobster has announced that it has successfully exited Chapter 11 bankruptcy and is now under new USA-based ownership. In May, many Red Lobster restaurants across the country, including both Montgomery County locations in Gaithersburg and Silver Spring, abruptly closed.

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) is investigating a homicide after an 18-year-old woman was discovered deceased at a home on the 18600 block of Calypso Place in Montgomery Village.
Montgomery County Police are investigating a commercial burglary at a Giant Food store in Germantown on September 16, 2024, where three suspects used a stolen Dodge Ram to ram the entrance and attempt to break into an ATM before fleeing without taking any money or property.
