UPDATE: MCPD has determined that the report of a person with a gun at Wood Acres Elementary is unfounded. The scene is secure.
Wood Acres Elementary School at 5800 Cromwell Dr in Bethesda is currently in a shelter in place due to police activity.

A Washington D.C. man who pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree murder charges in January was sentenced today to 25 years in prison.
