FITRow is Coming to Congressional Plaza in Rockville

FITRow, which features three independent fitness studios under one roof (the first of its kind in the DMV), is coming to Congressional Plaza in Rockville.

I still remember living on East Jefferson Avenue when I was 4 and walking to Magruder’s in Congressional with my grandmother. She’d let me
carry a bag full of paper towels home just so I could feel like I was helping.

Federal Realty announced today it has signed leases with CorePower Yoga and Orangetheory Fitness in FITRow, a new-to-market concept featuring three independent boutique fitness studios located under one roof at Congressional Plaza in Rockville, Md. The first two studios will open in 2020 adjacent to Barnes and Noble’s new 13,000 square-foot store.

With 2,125 square feet still available, Federal Realty is actively in discussions with other fitness concepts for the remaining studio space. The FITRow concept originated at Federal Realty’s Assembly Row, which brought together multiple boutique fitness and lifestyle concepts under one roof at the Boston-area mixed-use center in 2017.

A first for the DMV, the innovative FITRow is ideal for today’s fitness enthusiasts, who increasingly look for convenience and variety in their fitness routines. “The FITRow concept makes it easy and convenient for anyone to keep their work out routine fresh while having a choice and variety in their work outs.” said Kari Glinksi, Director of Asset Management at Federal Realty. “FITRow is a lifestyle, a community where people have access to several boutique studios that can evolve with their fitness wants and needs.”

The first two fitness studios scheduled to open in 2020 are CorePower Yoga and Orangetheory Fitness. CorePower’s mission is to show the world the life-changing things that happen when you root an intensely physical workout in the mindfulness of yoga. Carefully curated, consistent class formats move students to flow and sweat together inside the largest community of yoga studios in the country. CorePower offers reciprocity across 200+ locations and streaming CorePower Yoga On Demand classes.

Orangtheory Fitness is one of the world’s fastest-growing franchise companies and leader in the boutique fitness space. The purpose is to give people a longer, more vibrant life with each and every workout. Their workouts incorporate endurance, strength, and power to generate the ‘Orange Effect’ – which keeps calories burning for up to 36 hours after a 60-minute workout. “We are excited to bring Orangetheory Fitness to FITRow and the Rockville community. Our goal is to help members live healthier, more vibrant lives,” said Steve Wolfrey, Orangetheory Fitness Rockville Franchise owner. “Our members see results from the science-backed, technology tracked and coach led high-energy workout, regardless of their fitness level. We are looking forward to bringing those results to Rockville residents, and welcoming them as part of the Orangetheory family!”
“Congressional is constantly evolving to meet community needs,” added Glinski. “We find the latest amenities and bring them here where everyone can benefit.”

Congressional Plaza offers a unique collection of boutique shops, national retailers, luxury services and a variety of restaurants. FITRow will be part of this vibrant shopping and dining destination, easily accessible on the Redline at the Twinbrook Metro station and become a destination for those who live and work near Congressional Plaza, its shoppers and the community.
